This bite on his eye was made from a kissing bug. These bugs normallyfeed at night because they find their food by sensing for body heat. They tend to feed on the faces of people and that is where they get their namefrom. Not all bites are this severe, this person just may be more sensitiveto the saliva they inject, or because the bite is close to his eye. Kissingbugs can carry a life threatening disease called Chagas Disease. This disease doesn't cause many symptoms when first contracted, but as timegoes on the symptoms get worse. If left untreated for a long time the disease can be fatal. These bites could be from chiggers, they are mites that feed on skin of mammalsincluding humans. Often they cause severe itching ant irritation. They are about .5 mm big so they are very hard to see. They tend to burrow under the skinand many people say putting Vaseline, or clear fingernail polish over there markwill kill them. Mosquito bites can be confused for bed bug bites, specially if the personhas multiple bites in the same area. One of the only differences is thatmosquito bites tend to go away faster then bed bug bites if left alone. This wound is from a Brown Recluse Spider, the venom that the spiderinjects dissolves the tissue that is around the bite wound. This is generallyhow they eat, they inject their prey with this toxin and it dissolves the insides and the spider actually drinks the preys insides. Unfortunetaly this is what happens to a human when they get bitten by one. Here are some more mosquito bites that could be confused with bed bug bites. Everything looks the same as a bed bug infestation would, even the grouping of the bites.
